With 25 years of experience in international development cutting across HIV/AIDS prevention, sexual and reproductive health and safe motherhood, Nick’s work has focussed on programme and project design, management, and evaluation in Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia.

read more about Nick
Working for IPPF/WHR and Marie Stopes International, Nick oversaw and supported the design, provision and promotion of a community-focussed, rights-based approach to sexual and reproductive health service programmes and projects, including HIV prevention and treatment.
Between IPPF/WHR and Marie Stopes International, Nick spent two years working for Population Communications International (now PCI Media), managing Board relations. PCI pioneered behavioural change around improving women’s reproductive health through entertainment-education, socially responsible mass media programmes using television and radio soap operas.
Nick joined Plan International as Programme Specialist Lead within the global internal audit function. In addition to assessing the effectiveness of the management of Plan country programmes, he led the design and application of global indicators and tools to assess the extent to which Plan’s child-centred community development approach to programming was being applied. He assessed (on behalf of external funders) the quality of the design and effectiveness of the implementation of early child care development projects, most recently in Mozambique and Kenya, and in Plan’s Syrian emergency response in Jordan, Lebanon, and Egypt. He led the bi- annual assessment of the effectiveness of the application of gender equality and inclusion policies and best practices across the organisation, and Board-commissioned reviews of the organisation’s global monitoring and evaluation capacity.
Prior to leaving the organisation he formed part of a three-person team redesigning Plan’s partnership model approach, and a strategic review of Membership criteria.
Nick is an avid collector of ethnic textiles, and together with his partner is restoring a historic pub in Scotland, which they hope will be fully open soon!
